Android permissions and device compatibility
VaultChat only asks for permissions needed by the features you choose to use. If a permission is denied, the related feature may not work.
Required only for encrypted voice calls. If disabled, messages and files still work, but calls cannot transmit audio.
Required only for scanning QR contact codes. If disabled, you can still add contacts manually by public ID.
Recommended for new messages and incoming calls. If disabled, alerts may not appear on time.
Some Android versions stop apps in the background. Allow background activity for better message and call reliability.
Important device note
Android behavior differs between Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, Motorola, Google Pixel and other manufacturers. The same VaultChat version may require different permission or battery settings depending on the phone.
What VaultChat does not request
VaultChat does not need your location, SMS, call log or full address book to function as a private messenger.
